MEET THE BAND

Hi, I’m Em! I’ve been singing for about 15 years, though for the last two, I’ve been exploring my darker side with harsher vocals. My record collection is a bit of a mix of everything from alt-rock and shoegaze to nu-metal, hardcore, and basically any metal subgenre I can get my ears on. I’ve previously fronted alt-rock bands like Call of Sirens, and while I’m a fairly new face in Throwing Distance, I’m already obsessed with what we’re cooking up. Working with the boys is great, and I’m excited to see where this creative madness takes us!

Hi, I’m Sam Lacey and have been playing bass guitar for 10 years. I’m a fan of a variety of genres with my favourites being under the punk and metal bracket, but will happily enjoy and play music from other genres as well. I’m the second founding member of Throwing Distance after Vince, with it being my first band, and am incredibly excited to be back playing music live! One of my dream goals would be to play a set at Slam Dunk Festival with Throwing Distance, and can’t wait to get started working towards that goal with the rest of the band.

I’m Vince Brain, I’ve been playing drums for 10 years. I enjoy playing a variety of genres and am currently working in post hardcore, alt rock, dnb and country bands as well as doing session work and other projects with indie pop artists and singer songwriters. I am a founding member of Throwing Distance and have enjoyed working with some really talented players on our first EPs and gigs. Looking forward to making some music videos and working on the next chapter!

I also run a drum shop in Salisbury called Sarum Drums.

Jarek here, I’ve played guitar since I was 6 and drums since age 12 (I think?). I’ve played each instrument for a multitude of different artists and bands of various genres, including singer-songwriter, jazz pop, indie rock, and progressive music. I’ve somehow wound up playing guitar in a post hardcore band so we’ll see how that goes! In my free time I’m writing, producing and actively working freelance as both a drum teacher and live sound engineer. Excited to get our new material recorded and play more live shows.
